today was much fun, i must admit. after first hour, all of the newspaper kids met in the commons, and then we all left for the Roostertail. andrew went home to change, then picked up sara, ross and i. we had quite the grand time following the directions, and still getting beaten there by jasmine who turned on woodward instead of 75.
the sun looked really cool behind the clouds.
We got there and ended up being like the first school so we sat at the front of the room. we then sat there and talked for 45 minutes while enjoying the view of the detroit river/bell isle. then the fancy to do started and the 4 journalists spoke their piece, and we got to ask questions for about a half hour. then we ate lunch w/ shireen saski, and she had some interesting stuff to talk about. after lunch, the tigers and their coaches, gm, etc... all came out, and we asked them questions for about an hour. really fun time there.
afterwards, we added abbigail to our car, and then drove aimlessly through detroit while having perhaps the most peculiar/hilarious conversations. we ended up going house seeing in the nice parts of detroit, then we got back out to woodward and sara was all "i'm hungry guys" so we went to nelllllos. after that we dropped everyone off, and the day was over. i absolutely love ross. he's so funny. in fact, hanging out with andrew, sara, abbi and ross was really refreshing. its been too long....
overall, the day was pretty sweet, and although i had almost no interest whatsoever in becoming a journalist, it seems really tempting right now.

24 teams....... 2nd place. second fuggin place because josh arocho, the douchebag, missed an easy-as-hell spare in the 9th frame.
individually, a 266 w/ a 661 series put me at 2nd high game, and 9th high series. not bad.

I love that finals are over. It's sweet, cuz they were easy for the most part.
Today i was supposed to go snowboarding w/ the Andys, but that fell through cuz it was too warm. i'm glad i didn't go though, cuz i pretty much had the sweetest day i've had in a while. I woke up at noon to the chorus of my niece and nephew "Uncle Josh, wake up! It's sunny! You can't sleep!" so i woke up, and my niece was all "lets watch Air Bud" so we did. then they went home, and chuck called me to play some hockey w/ him, totz and chris. The posts and crossbars were just painted and still wet, but i didn't know that. so my gloves and pants have red paint on them! YAY! after me and chris won the game, we were just screwing around, and chris wound up to shoot, and it looked like he was aiming for the goal, but he was shooting at me. missed my crotch by like 3 inches, and i could barely skate afterwards. wonderful. and yes, chris, there is a bruise.
soon after that, my mom picked me up, and we went to my little brother's last basketball game at keller. wow, is keller bad. in the 4th quarter for the A team, this little kid on ferndale had the ball and was standing behind the three point line. he then takes what i think is a really flat, arrant shot. then, out of nowhere, as if sent by god, this kid jumpts up into the air grabs the ball, and BOOM! dunks it home. yes, thats right AN 8TH GRADER dunked. it was pretty much the sweetest thing i've ever seen in my life. even the parents from Keller were going nuts. honestly, if i would have been taping it, i would air mail a copy to sportscenter, and they would run it on the show.
After the game, my dad was all "lets go to Texas Roadhouse" so we did. somehow, we got into a conversation about how much the ppl make on an average night working there (cuz they're always packed) and we ended up having a 5 minute conversation w/ the waitress about it. it was weird. and i love that place. its good. yes. Then when we were about to leave, michael called me to play poker, so i went over to chuck's house, then we all went to tom's and played for a few hours. I ACTUALLY WON A GAME! omg, it was the best ever. i felt so good about myself. then in the next game, i went back to my old ways and lost on a full house.
haha, i have to be up in a little less than 5 hours :) then i get to experience a 20 hour day :) this is gunna be so much fun!

i've played a lot of poker this weekend w/ the guys. i actually think god hates me. or maybe he just likes michael more. cuz he's won every game, and has beaten me every time. three times i had a 2 pair, and once i had a full house. he always had the better 2 pair or full house. it was ridiculous. but whatever, good times, good people, too much coke.
i havn't studied for any finals yet, and frankly, i don't give a damn.

These events actually occured:
I was sitting in my parents room watching tv and i was really bored. i see this stuffed polar bear sitting on the table next to me, so i pick up "Mr. Polar Bear" and i start talking
Me: hey mr. polar bear, how's it goin Mr Polar Bear: i'm great! how are you? Me: i'm okay, besides the fact that i just got into a car accident. Mr Polar Bear: OH NO! THATS AWFUL! Can i make it better for you? Me: how? Mr Polar Bear: i can get you an ice cold coca cola Me: that'd be great! Mr Polar Bear: i'll just have to go to the North Pole really quick. In fact, i'll bring my family with me, and we can do a dance for you! Me: awesome! what kind of dance? Mr Polar Bear: i'll show you *i start singing YMCA, mr. polar bear dances and does arm motions* Me: wow! that was great! Say, what else do you do for fun in the North Pole Mr Polar Bear: well, sometimes, we take empty coke bottles, and go penguin bowling! Me: oh, thats not nice. do they ever get mad at you? Mr Polar Bear: no! they love it! sometimes, they even ask to be the ball. they slide very well on their stomachs, you know. Me: oh, well i suppose thats true. Mr Polar Bear: well, i've gotta get to the North Pole. Be back soon! Me: Bye!
i then watched overtime of the Pistons game. and now its time to get ready for soccer.... oh boy, do i love 1 am games :)

On a completely different note. Last night, i had a dream! It starts at Best Middle School, and ends in tragedy!!!!! muahahahahahaha! no really, i was at some college party, which just happened to be at best? don't know why, don't know how, it just was. and me and a couple people were talking about god knows what by the door to the play groud from the wing closest to the gym (anyone know what im' talking about?) and we were just off the pavement by the trees, and outta nowhere, this random guy shoots me in the chest. didn't know who he was, just up and shot me in the chest, but i didn't bleed. it felt reallly cool. i then fall to the ground, and as my face hits the grass, i see the bullet casing on the pavement.... weird. almost instantly, an ambulance is there, and i'm on a stretcher. the EMT's are sayin stuff and stuff that i didn't really understand. they then put me into the ambulance, and before the doors shut, they knocked me out with anesthetic. then, i woke up an undefined amount of time later very refreshed.

Today, after school, adam kidnapped me, and we went to his work to get some crap, then he was all "Seaholm has a full day today, we're gunna go bother my friends" so we then proceeded to go to Seaholm (and adam couldn't find it cuz he sucks at directions/driving, but i kindly pointed him in the right direction) we found oakland country club before the school, which is sad. then we got to the school, and marveled at the beautiful cars in the parking lot.... honestly, what high school student needs a BMW or an Audi. no one! so we went in, and i felt it completely necessary to wear my Ferndale jacket. i got a lot of weird looks. Honestly, their school puts ours to shame, its absolutely insane. anyway, it was their lunch time, so we went to the cafeteria, and i was like.... Adam, you know like 8 ppl that go here, there are 1200 ppl in this school, what are the chances that you will find one of these 8. no sooner than those words had left my mouth, he spots three of them. so we talk to them for a while, then go off to find some of his other friends... all in all, he finds 7/8 of them. boo on my prediction. Adam then decided that it would be really fun to sit in on their band class. yeah, about their band..... heh. they had a good oboe player..... and a good french horn player, but thats about it. i'm confident that we could sight read the stuff they were playing much better than they played it after having it for a week. We then left the band room at 2, walked past the main office without being questioned at all (again, ferndale jacket.... how could ya miss it). which brings me to my next point: their rules are really lax! They actually allow you to carry a knife in school as long as the blade is less than three inches long. what the hell.... somebody is going to be killed. anyway, thats the Seaholm adventure.
Somebody tell me what this assassination game is......

So today started off pretty bad. My mom woke me up, and i said that we had a snow day, and that she didn't know how to read (i was still half asleep). Then i actually got outta bed, and went to school. Zero hour = blah. spanish was easy, band dumb..... yeah pretty much everything during school was boring/pointless. especially health. Miracle of Life = nap time. After school, i came home, and my fuhre..... i mean father made me clean a buncha crap before caroling. Caroling was really fun, but really really really cold. My valves froze. I like Frostbites. After that whole ordeal, me, joe and henry went to Henry's house to watch a movie. We ended up watching this 1980's horror flick called "The Changeling". it was reallllly realllly good. it would actually be a terrifying movie if they remade it today.

[27 Nov 2005|07:57pm] |
so, this fall, this guy who i know as Vince Reyes (who, eventhough he wasn't, was my grandpa) died. and as it so happens to be, his favorite song was Amazing Grace. this morning for some reason, i started thinking about him. and i was in church. and about 2 minutes later, they start playing Amazing Grace. Weird? i think so.
on another note...Abbigail, your hoedown was amazing. i had a blast :)
